Discover the Sisterhood

More Than a Group.
A Place to Belong.

Sisterhood of Witches was created for women looking for something that can be surprisingly hard to find—real community.
A place to make friends. To learn and explore. To celebrate the seasons. To try something new. To laugh, create, gather around a table, sit around a fire, and spend time with women who just get it.
You don’t need years of experience. You don’t need to follow a particular tradition. And you definitely don’t need to have everything figured out.
Come curious. Come exactly where you are on your path.

What Is the Sisterhood?

Sisterhood of Witches is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where women can connect, learn, grow, and build meaningful friendships.
Our local Sisterhoods bring women together in real life through gatherings, workshops, classes, book circles, seasonal celebrations, creative activities, spiritual exploration, and plenty of things we do simply because they’re fun.
We’re not here to tell you how to practice.
We’re here to give you a community where you can explore your own path alongside other women doing the same.

Connect

Build genuine friendships and meaningful community.

Learn

Explore witchcraft, folklore, nature, spirituality, creativity and more.

Gather

Celebrate, create, share meals, explore new places and occasionally do something wonderfully weird together.

There Is No One Right Way to Be a Witch

Some of our members have practiced witchcraft or Pagan traditions for decades.
Some are just beginning.
Some have a defined spiritual practice. Others don’t.
Some love ritual and spellwork. Others are more interested in herbs, folklore, nature, history, creativity, seasonal living, or simply finding an amazing group of women.
You don’t need to label yourself.
You don’t need to believe what everyone else believes.
You don’t need to prove that you’re “witchy enough.”
There is room here for your path to look like yours.

A Sisterhood Built on Respect

Creating genuine community requires more than gathering people in the same room.
It requires trust.
Our Sisterhood is built around a few simple expectations:

  • Respect different paths.
There is no single tradition or belief system everyone is expected to follow.
  • Protect each other’s privacy.
What members share personally—and the locations of private gatherings—is treated with care.
  • Leave politics at the door.
Our Sisterhood is intentionally a politics-free community space. Political campaigning, arguments, pressure, and political bullying are not welcome here.
  • Respect boundaries.
Participation is always a choice. No one should ever feel pressured into a ritual, practice, conversation, or activity.
  • Choose kindness over drama.
We don’t expect everyone to agree or become best friends. We do expect members to treat one another respectfully.
  • These are only a few of the principles that help us protect the community we’re building.

Who is the sisterhood for?

The Sisterhood is for women looking for friendship, community, learning, exploration, and meaningful connection.
You might find your place here if you’ve ever thought:

I’d love to learn more, but I don’t know where to start.

I wish I had women to do things like this with.

I want friendships that exist outside of work, kids, and everyday responsibilities

Or maybe you can’t quite explain what you’re looking for. You just know you’ve been looking for your people.
We understand. So many of us were nervous to reach out or walk into that first gathering wondering if we’d fit in.
But we showed up anyway.
And what we found was true magick—friendship, laughter, support, and women to learn, celebrate, and do life with.
We found our people.
If you’re nervous to take that first step, remember—we were too.
Sometimes the magick begins simply by showing up.

Our Story

Sisterhood of Witches began in Sacramento, California, with a simple idea:
What if we created the community we wished existed?
What started as women gathering together in each other’s homes grew into workshops, celebrations, book circles, classes, friendships, traditions, and a community that became something much bigger than an event calendar.
Today, Sisterhood of Witches is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a vision of helping women create meaningful Sisterhood communities beyond Sacramento.
Sacramento will always be where our story began.
But it doesn’t have to be where it ends.

Come Find your People

You don’t have to know anyone.
You don’t need to know everything about witchcraft.
You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly defined spiritual path.
You just have to be willing to show up.
Come experience the Sisterhood for yourself.
Your first gathering is always free.
